Nothing Holds

Women are the center of my universe, being an essential element of my work.

We are concerned about too many things in this revolutionary 21st Century.

What is the role of women in today´s digital age in order not to be victimized?

We  still  live in a society of the objectification of the self,  where women  without any problem , any race , any age, any religion ,any country  brand themselves classifying  their looks, how they dress , how much they weight ? To make things worse the media handle reality, the electronic image is manipulated and the game played on the outside  surface at the levels of appearance only loses power the moment you see  the  real person. But what about  the inner?
Vulnerability , intimacy, emotion and privacy  are avoided because they have to do with weakness. Distorting reality doesn't hide  the ugliness of the outside. What is inside, the inner imperfect introspection continues to make us miserable, competitiveness  among us is as ferocious as ever.

As an artist woman you need temperament, and immense artistic sensibility, you have to be  pathologically emotional, go to  greatest happiness and deepest depressions, in order to create expressions  free of irrelevancy, but above all  the stronger and more original  you are, the less  men will criticize your weakness. Being benevolent is something that you have to earn with time (age).

We live in a society where the value of time has disappeared. Everything is passing, at an amazing speed of use-and-throw-out, and nothing holds forever.
The idea of Freedom is represented by breaking up the traditional Valentian dress with a brilliant cap recently purchased in New York. I am doing without the hairdressing and decoration of the head, a gesture which may be almost sacrilegious for the local adepts of pasodoble. The American flag incorporates 50 stars, one for each federal state. My cap has only one star, in representation of the Community where I was born, but shines only half-way because the useless authorities in power don’t allow it to glow more.
