2014

Knowledge, judgment, common sense and life experience are doubtless reflected in art. Nowadays, the work of seniors, great idea creators, is recovered and more respected. Now the talent of an older age is more highly valued, but we live in an intergenerational society where we share experience and are helping each other.

I will start the new year by painting this big white canvas with which I wish you a Happy New Year and all the very best.

El criterio, juicio, sentido común y sobre todo vivencias se reflejan sin lugar a dudas  en el  arte, ahora  se  recupera    y respeta mas  el trabajo de  los seniors,  grandes  creadores de ideas. Se   valora  el talento de mayor edad, pero vivimos en una sociedad intergeneracional  donde convivimos  compartiendo experiencias y nos  ayudándonos los unos a los otros.

Empezaré  el año pintando este gran  lienzo en blanco con el que os deseo   un Feliz y Prospero Año 2014.

No me gustan nada las invivibles  casas de Joaquín Torres, parecen  fríos  mausoleos futurísticos  del espacio.  Una casa es un producto de culto  en el  que se tiene que vivir, un espacio creado para activar   todos los estímulos sensoriales, creamos  emociones, mirando, tocando.

Cuando lleguemos a vivir en el   espacio; yo no desde luego, que se construyan con materiales del universo planetario.  Por ahora  seguimos en el tan castigado planeta tierra y con poco y reciclado deberíamos crear palacios del confort. La casa se vive, se huele y se ensucia.

I don´t like at all the unlivable houses of Joaquin Torres , they look like futuristic  space mausoleums. A house is a product of cult which one has to live in, a space created to activate your entire sensorial stimulus. We created emotions by touching, smelling.  

Once we are capable of living in space, not me of course, they might build them with materials from the planetarium universe. Meanwhile we still are in the so punished planet earth and with less, and recycled materials we should be capable of building palaces of comfort.

 

A house has to be lived in, touched, smelled and dirtied.

A work of art is the extension of an artist’s mood. I really felt good today, not so much yesterday.

This painting is an example of mature concentration. A well balanced structure between abstraction and figuration, with a certain tendency to simplification of form, an astounding combination of colors, a well structured picture layout and, what´s  really admirable,  a balanced composition combining it all. As always my humble opinion but different  ones will be very welcome.¡Olé!

Talking about Judges.

In summer of 2009, Sonia de Sotomayor, after days of extensive and extenuated hearings that I religiously followed in New York, was confirmed by the U.S Senate as the 111 th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Sotomayor was the first Hispanic and third female justice to serve on the Supreme Court. I was so impressed by her that I became her fan.

I painted her as a heroine in this painting along with Zapatero, governing Spain badly at that time , and the eternal Mrs. Merkel.

I wonder what she would have said about the sentence of the Prestige.

Here is my humble opinion.

 

€ 800 million worth of negligence absolved, and the government again goes on happily and relieved – until the next time. Mr. Arias Cañete talks about lessons learned, but neither will there be increased ship inspections nor will marine security be improved.

 

Justice has again favored the incompetent. What worse, Spain is full of them and they are governing the country. In this case without environmental conscience and this will happen again whilst the culprits aren’t paying for damages.

 

 

 

Can negligence be punished through criminal proceedings? Why not?

 

 

Luz Verde a Parot

Strasbourg prohibits the retroactive application of the Parot Doctrine in case of 1000-or-more-year sentences which no prisoner will ever complete, because with or without such doctrine, more than 30 years inside would not be possible, only maybe a few years less for days worked or good conduct, but not a whole lot. If a terrorist who should never have been released from jail now gets out 3 or 4 years early, what difference does it make. ? Please, Spanish legislators and judges, not 30, not 40, nor retroactively or not. If you don’t want them to get out, just one life sentence with the possibility of review if circumstances call for it.

Would my adored British friends have applied such a sentence from Strasbourg? What would happen if Spain had decided not to execute it?

 

Estrasburgo prohíbe  la aplicación retroactiva de la doctrina Parot  a las sentencias milenarias que ningún preso cumplirá., pues con ella o sin ella más de treinta años de condena no  serian aplicables,  excepto unos pocos años por buena conducta, pero no tantos menos. Que un terrorista que jamás debería de haber salido  de la cárcel, salga  cuatro años antes que más da.  . Señores juristas españoles, ni treinta, ni cuarenta,   ni con carácter retroactivo ni sin él. Si  no quieren que salga, cadena perpetua y  revisen sentencias.

Hubieran  aplicado mis amigos los británicos, a los que adoro semejante doctrina? ¿Que pasaría en España si no se aplicase?

PP´S Patrimony

Elevando la tauromaquia a patrimonio cultural los del PP no han hecho sino que asegurarse el suyo, ya que muchos de ellos tiene dinero invertido en ganadería. Otra artimaña más de los dirigentes. La incapacidad de los socialistas con 54 abstenciones demuestra el poco espíritu de lucha de un partido en quiebra.

Espero que la UNESCO ni se plantee incluir la tauromaquia entre los patrimonios Inmateriales de la Humanidad, con ello seguiría fomentando la desfachatez política de un partido corrupto.

The PP,KK only tries to elevate it´s patrimony by declaring bullfighting cultural patrimony , because many of them have money invested in cattle farms.

The inability of the socialist’s party with 54 abstentions in the voting of the law only demonstrates the lack of any fighting spirit.

I hope that the UNESCO will not even consider including bullfighting within the Immaterial Patrimonies of Humanity, because with that it would only continue to  cover a corrupted political party.

Children´s art . Dro versus Miro

A child between 4 and 7 years who is not pressed into anything and is ego-centered will express its feelings through the charm and the spontaneity of very expressive drawings.

 

It is their way of letting us know about the impression they get from the external appearance of an object. But precisely what attracts us emotionally is their lack of drawing skill, their esthetic sensitivity or their infantile sculpting manner, their carelessness about details and their freedom to express relationships in space.

A lively drawing that can be sad, hateful or powerful within its simplicity can be the sign of a work of art. Artistic sensitivity and esthetic perception increase with age, and go hand in hand with becoming less egocentric and losing originality

 With privileged dynamism a child sings and dances while painting this is called synesthesia handling easy translations between the different sensorial systems in which colors evoke sounds and sounds evoke colors.

This explosion of artistic activity constitutes the central enigma of artistic development. , within this time of their lives occurs an easy and natural transaction between mediums.

To express ideas and new concepts make feelings alive, with excited traces, children are able to produce personal big important abstractions through original caricatures.  Success and fame can be developed at this time

 

An adult who invents preschool metaphors lets go with unconscious processes, and tries hiding the skill and dexterity of knowledge, must get rid of stereotyped representations and conventions which he sometimes uses in order to attract the attention of others, and which inhibit this precious freedom of a creative child, who knows no such preoccupations.

Miró, Klee or Picasso can be ingenious without copying children but must reduce forms to simpler work, spontaneous and original. And always look for different expressions.

On the other hand, children who try to achieve realism can produce fabulous deviations.

An adult, in his much desired and lost maturity must search for innocence and simplicity in order to create new pre-schoolers’ strokes of genius.

El Arte de la Pequeña DRO.

El arte del Pequeño

  Somos creadores, pero  el verdadero artista ordena archivando  lo que    le rodea  de una  manera más personal.  Su ojo se esfuerza por mirar como  si  viera las cosas por primera vez, como las ve un niño,  distorsionándolas, y desembarazándose  de lo superfluo para inventar más fácil. .. Crear es expresar lo que uno lleva dentro ayudado de lo de fuera, nuestro interior  con lo exterior se debe proyectar sobre la tela, en el caso de la pintura de una forma mecánica  ,simple y  original, resistiéndonos a las prácticas habituales del conocimiento para expresar esta mezcla de   ideas sentimientos y conceptos.

,

Un niño entre los 4 y los 7 años no coartado y egocéntrico  expresa sus  sentimientos a través del  encanto y la  espontaneidad  de dibujos muy expresivos.

 Nos informan con ellos sobre la impresión que le produce la apariencia externa de un objeto.  Pero es su falta de habilidad para dibujar,  su sensibilidad estética  o su  habilidad plástica infantil, con su simplicidad de formas, despreocupación por los detalles y  libertad para interpretar relaciones espaciales, lo  que precisamente  atrae emocionalmente.

   Con su dinamismo privilegiado,  en esta etapa se da una transacción fácil y natural entre los distintos medios. El niño canta o baila mientras dibuja con desenvoltura y entusiasmo combinándolas. Se llama sinestesia,  el niño efectúa fáciles traducciones entre distintos sistemas sensoriales en el que los colores pueden evocar sonidos y los sonidos colores. Este estallido de actividad artística,  constituye el enigma central del desarrollo artístico. Expresar ideas  y conceptos nuevos afloran  sentimientos,   con trazos agitados y, personales, los niños   producen grandes abstracciones a través de originales caricaturas. La fama se puede  desarrollar en esta etapa.

La repetición da seguridad  pero coarta la creatividad. El niño aprende a través del descubrimiento, la experimentación y la exploración de lo nuevo.

 Un dibujo vivaz, triste, iracundo o potente dentro de su simplicidad puede ser señal de una obra de arte. Sensibilidad artística y percepción estética aumentan con la edad, y  van en paralelo con la disolución del egocentrismo y perdida de la originalidad.

 

El adulto inventando metáforas preescolares da  rienda suelta a procesos inconscientes, ocultando  la proeza y destreza del conocimiento,  debe desembarazarse de representaciones estereotipadas y convencionales que a veces adapta para captar visión de los demás,  y  que inhiben la libertad tan valiosa que tiene el niño creador, que no tiene tales preocupaciones.

Miro Klee o Picasso pueden ser ingenuos sin copiar a niños pero deben reducir las  formas a trabajos más simples, espontáneos y originales. Buscando siempre  expresiones distintas.

 Por otra parte los niños intentando llegar al realismo producen desviaciones geniales.

Un adulto debe buscar la  inocencia y simplicidad   en su rebuscada madurez que  ha perdido,  para crear nuevas   divinidades  de pre-escolares.

I was a little child when I first read ‘Platero and I’, one of the most popular Works by Juan Ramon Jimenez.

The donkey was domesticated about 5.000 thousand years BC. Donkeys have always been used as cargo animals to transport heavy weights. They are capable of carrying more than 20% of their own weight.

Cristopher Columbus brought them to America in 1495.

In spite of their bad reputation of dullness they are intelligent, friendly and cautious animals. They like to learn and play and they are the perfect pet for children because they love them. 

They are also in danger of extinction, there are not very many left. Here is a lovely one and as Juan Ramon Jimenez described: “A symbol of tenderness, purity and naiveté “.

El Cormoran de la Suerte.

 

This little Cormoran was lucky because we rescued him from the   septic illegal deposit of chemical residuals from processing olives in Alcala de Xivert. We cleaned him up and returned him to the seashore,

 

Este pajarito tuvo suerte y  fue rescatado de la fosa séptica balsa de vertidos de alpechines ilegales de Alcalá de Xivert . Lo limpiamos y lo regresamos al mar es un cormorán.

 

The Septic Deposit

The Septic Deposit of Alcalá de Xivert

There exists in Alcalá de Xivert a clandestine deposit of remainders of olives oil mill effluents during 14 years without an environmental license and, what is even more serious, without ever having been emptied, treated or cleaned.

After pressing the olives, after the milling process, there remains an organic product, the effluents which the owner of the press takes to the deposit in tanks, without any environmental or sanitary control. When the liquid evaporates, it produces a fetid mass, highly contaminating and very dangerous to your health.

If filtered and treated, the material is reusable for energy production, as fertilizer, combustion material etc. If abandoned and stored, it possesses a lethal chemical composition of fats, poliphenols, benzoids, all very toxic. Any organism is incapable to eliminate these elements which, what is worse, can cause cancer. Phenols are the worst, and the most dangerous way is through the air. When breathing it in, the material can cause cellular mutations, weaken the immune system and, as said before, cause cancer.

The effluents, besides the fetid smell, also is very contaminating by way of its high DBO (need for oxygen in the decomposition process). To decompose one liter of these effluents, 60 g of oxygen are needed. In these types of deposits, the need for oxygen is enormous (DQO between 40,000 and 210,000 ppm and a DBO between 10.000 and 150,000 ppm).

Processing 1,000 kg of olives produces a contamination equivalent to a village of 500 – 1,000 inhabitants. In other words, how many people were contaminated during all these years?

Now, the owner of this establishment is again asking for a license. It seems like the agricultural engineer is ready to approve it, and of course city hall appears tolerant of such behavior.

 

I sincerely believe this company does not deserve such benevolence, and the people should speak out once and for all, even if only in the interest of their own health and that of their children.

I really would like to analyze this organic material.

 

Medio Ambiente

El pozo séptico de Alcalá de Xivert.

Existe una la balsa clandestina de alpechines, en Alcalá de Xivert , que lleva 14 años sin licencia ambiental, y lo que es más grave sin vaciar, limpiar  y tratar.

Tras la prensa de la aceituna  en  su proceso de molturación  queda  un producto orgánico remanente, el alpechín , que el propietario de  la almazara lleva en cubas a la balsa sin ningún control  ambiental y sanitario, y  que  cuando se evapora el agua produce  un lodo fétido. Este engrudo repleto de materia orgánica es  altamente  contaminante, y muy peligroso  para la salud.

Depurado y tratado es reutilizable para producción de energía, como fertilizante, levaduras, combustible etc, abandonado y  a almacenado tiene una composición química letal, compuesta por materia grasa, polifenoles, benzopinas, hidrocarburos aromáticos muy tóxicos, y liposolubles acumulativos que el organismo,  es incapaz de eliminar, y lo que es más grave,  cancerígenos.  Los más conflictivos son  los fenólicos, la vía más peligrosa de contagio  es a través del aire;  produciendo si se respira, mutaciones celulares, canceres como ya he dicho, y debilitamiento del sistema inmunológico.

El alpechín fermentado a parte de un olor fétido tiene también  un alto poder contaminante por su DBO (demanda biológica  de oxigeno que se necesita para descomponer la materia de forma bioquímica aeróbica), para depurar un litro de  alpechín se necesita una media de 60grde O2.

Es enorme en estas balsas la demanda de  (DQO,” demanda química de oxigeno”, entre 40.000 y 210.000 ppm) y un DBO entre 10.000 y 150.000 ppm.

El procesado de 1,000kg de aceituna provoca una contaminación equivalente a una población de 500 - 1.000 habitantes. Ósea que la balsa de alpechines clandestina de Alcalá, que lleva 14 años vertiendo lodos a la misma,  que el propietario, aceites Xivert,  no ha vaciado alegando la falta de interés del alpechín y que produce 1.500.000 por cosecha sin tratar .. ¿A cuánta población ha  contaminado en todos  estos  años y cuantas veces?

Pide por cuarta vez una licencia medioambiental denegada por no cumplir ni una sola medida correctiva , preventiva.., el ingeniero agrónomo  está de acuerdo en concedérsela. Por supuesto también lo está el ayuntamiento conocedor  y tolerante de tamaña irregularidad de antaño.

Sinceramente yo creo  que aceites Xivert no merece tanta benevolencia, y el pueblo debería de hablar de una vez por todas,  aunque solo fuera por su propia salud y la de sus hijos.

Me encantaría analizar esta materia orgánica.

Todos los países tienen tradiciones, en Alemania hay fiestas regionales  y también beben,  y se divierten, por ejemplo en Babaria  celebran el "October First"  donde  se enmoñan hasta perder casi el “sentío” pero no maltratan a ningún animal. Aquí en España todas las tradiciones  giran alrededor  del toro. Habría que investigar porque ese odio al animal, y  ese ensañamiento en toda  sus manifestaciones, y sobre todo  ese afán de vencerlo en público.

 Paradójicamente  yo veo  lo contrario de lo que se quiere demostrar, un acto de cobardía y no de   valentía. No soy de izquierdas, así que no lo asocio  a leyes  del politiqueo,  pero como estamos en un periodo de austeridad, se debería eliminar alguna  fiesta de estas tan tradicionales; son  demasiadas. El “Toro del carnicero de la Vega” es una de las mas crueles. No estaría mal empezar por ella. Mi humilde opinión.

Tordemierdecillas.

I´m in mourning today and not only because of Vulcano. Spain has a strong resistance to change and even worse, does not accept failure. Its people live in permanent frustration because their expectations of recognition do not surpass the lack of their ability and effort levels to be respected as they  would like to be.

 

 

 

El Toro de la Vega.

El mundo es un caos de radicales  libres y  liberales,  de nacionalistas, independentistas,  de políticos  corruptos que dividen  a una sociedad elaborando leyes a su antojo. Estado de sitio, estado de derecho, derecho de estado, estados policiales, estar en pecado, cultos religiosos, de demócratas, de cristianos, de democratacristianos, estar en la gloria bendita.

Se violan los derechos humanos, y la gente se moviliza en la calle de los policías organizando golpes de estado, y otros se manifiestan ante la pasividad de los que gobiernan. Hay quien dice que la calle no es el entorno de la queja, y el que proteste que se presente como candidato para que le voten.

Yo digo que ante la desesperación, una buena y multitudinaria manifestación. Ayer habló Madrid, eterno  perdedor de Olimpiadas  en la calle en contra de “El Toro de La Vega”, pues desgraciadamente los animales no tienen nuestra voz, y tampoco voto.

 

The World is a chaos of liberals and free radicals, nationalists, independence freaks, corrupt politicians who divide society to their liking. Besieged state, state of law, right of state, police states, state of sin, religious cults, democrats, Christians, demo-christians, to be in their blessed glory.

Human rights are violated, and people rally in the street against police who organize coups, and others demonstrate against the passivity of those who govern. Some say that the street is not the environment for protest, and that the protesters should stand as candidates so they can be voted on.

I say that, faced with desperation, better a good and large demonstration. Yesterday Madrid, eternal Olympic Games candidate and loser, spoke out against the “Toro de la Vega”, because, unfortunately, animals don’t have our voices, and can’t vote.

Covered East and West.

Will the world explode for only the banality of religious concepts?

Changing mentality introducing the notion of freedom in culture and most of all religion will increase the degree of progress and democracy of political regimes.

Zero Olympic Games.

Pride, prepotency and above all naivety have left the Spanish completely crushed. Not even for a split second had they conceived a loss so huge.

Votes are not won over by begging in 3 languages, votes which hang in the air do not count. They need to be earned with hard work, strong effort and one’s head in its place; not too high and not too low, else promises lie in "agua de borrajas".

Mrs. Bottle paralyzed Madrid and its streets as owner and lady she is of the Mayordom. I had to drag my suitcase from Atocha station, walking through a mass of smiling faces who accepted defeat sung out to their later frozen faces.

They say you can live on hope and illusion but the IOC does not know about charity. Unemployment, the economic crisis, political corruption, and bullfighting which nobody talked about, could not hold out against the Japanese efficiency and its potent economy. 

From outside, they are looking at us with a severe magnifying glass. We look at ourselves with exaggerated benevolence, and in spite of our excellent Prince's beggar's presentation, Spain had an astounding exit through the back door.
